Positives: The food is delicious. Love, love love the little bites of crust with the beer cheese dip. Can't remember what they are called, but my husband and I wiped them out while waiting for our pizza. Negatives: The wait is very long once the food is ordered. This has been the case both times I ate here. ..Did I mention the wait. Do not go here when you are in a hurry!!

Next to Flying Saucer, this place has the largest and best beer selection in Little Rock. Food is good and the people are very friendly. Daily happy hour (2-4) - $3 beers and 1/2 off apps

Ate at this location once. Not likely to happen again. The food was meh. The worst part was the pizza dough was raw. Completely raw in the middle. It was sad because I like the chain. Update: Kudos to this place. After my review, I was contacted by this restaurant to get more information about my experience. I did have this meal on December 22, 2014. Maybe things have been addressed since then.

Best PIZZA in Little Rock, maybe the best in Arkansas. I was really "Wow'd" there are so many types of topping combinations that you will never get bored! I ate here last night and I had a half meaty pizza and half buffalo chicken. Both choices were superb! I order a bayou bleu to-go for the boyfriend and he loved it! The shrimp on top of spicy bleu cheese sauce.... Are you kidding me!? Lol I may have to diet for the next week but it's way worth it! Also, the red sauce and the bleu cheese dressing are great!

The brunchcapades continue! $2 Mimosas for brunch. I'll just leave that there. It was actually that that moved Mellow to the top of our brunch list - and they are solid, respectable mimosas! Good fizz, good orange juice, a solid pour, and just a little bit of orange pip left in the glass. Spot on! Now, their brunch is interesting, because they only do three specials, and they're all "breakfast pizzas." That is, omelettes cooked on pizzas. Sounds weird, but I'm all about it :) they have three specials that they serve for Sunday brunch, and the three of us opted for a half vegetarian, half Lumberjack (veggies plus bacon, ham, and sausage). The vegetarian half was no slouch, but that lumberjack stole the show. Great work on that bacon! They also have the special mimosas mentioned above, and a "build your own Blood Mary" menu - nice! It is a little funny recommending a place for brunch when there are only three brunch options, but as long as you're expecting it, and the options are good, it's a winning brunch. Not to mention, you can always supplement with the regular menu. We threw in a Stuffed Portabella and a... Mini Fungi? I think that's what it was called - the Portabella's were very impressive, and came with a salad drizzled with really good vinaigrette (it was thick, tangy, and delicious) and the Mini Fungi were little bites that came with a mustard/cheese dipping sauce that was *awesome.* We were pleased to see they have a sweet Happy Hour, something we haven't found much of here in LR, and with their 40 beers on tap no less. The place itself has fun decor (see the pictures), great open interior space with both a bar and a dining area, if the weather's nice the outdoor patio is well worth checking out. Granted, it's in a parking lot, but still nice to be able to sit outside. Of all the places I've been so far, this is the absolute best one to bring a medium/big brunch group - they've got the space for it, the food is great for sharing, the service is solid, and atmosphere has a "hang out and chat" feel to it. I am pleased to say, today's brunch was a wild success, and we will be back!

Food is amazing and the staff is always so friendly!! Pizza cook times are always mentioned before you order so anyone complaining about how long pizza takes just needs to suck it up. If you want fast pizza go to Little Caesars. If you want amazing pizza then you won't mind the wait at Mellow Mushroom!! Lacy at the LR location is an amazing server!! The management is always making rounds talking to guests every time I go!! The atmosphere and decor is so amazingly fun it instantly puts you in a good mood!! I love to take my dog with me and dine on the patio and I'm always greeted with a bowl of water for my hound and every staff member to come out the door comes over to say hi! The staff is always smiling, happy, and friendly every time!! I have yet to have an issue!! Well worth the prices and the wait!! Definitely one of my top 3 favorite restaurants in Little Rock!! :)

Never again. We ordered two pizzas, a cheese and a Mighty Meaty. First of all it took forever to get our order even after we arrived to pick up our call in order. The noise level was also deafening. After all that wait, you would think they would be fresh but they were only luke warn. The cheese had an odd taste to it. The mighty meaty had a hair in it. Once was enough.

Solid pizza option in Little Rock. Bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable about their large and changing beer selection. Get the pesto sauce mixed with the red sauce on a build your own pizza. The specialty pizza have a generous portion of toppings and my favorite is probably the Maui Wowie. The sweetness of the pineapples goes well with the sweet flavor of the wheat crust. You can sign up for their e-club for coupons and freebies.

The food is average compared to other pizza places I've been too. Either done too well or not enough. Went with my mom sister (13) and little brother (3). The waiter who looks about 19-22 gave my little sister a piece of paper with his phone number and saying how she was beautiful. Very Inappropriate and not expected. Will not be coming back with family.

Sunday brunch from 11 till 2. There's a couple different breakfast pizza options and mimosas are 2 dollars. They also have a decent sized bloody Mary bar.

Great atmosphere & food and everyone is always friendly and prompt. I've tried lots of different pizzas & appetizers and enjoyed everyone of them- they also let you do half and half pizzas with any flavor you want which is really awesome. The best one is the Red Skin Potato one. 5 stars all the way around!

Reading some other reviews, I checked to make sure I was on the right business page - twice. I've always been greeted and seated fairly quickly here, and the waitstaff have always been friendly and quick to answer questions and check up on my table. The one time I've had a problem (overcharging) it was resolved by a manager in no time. The food does take quite a while to cook though, but the longest I waited was when they had first opened and it was extra busy. While the ambience isn't as fun as the Nashville location, the food is just as good. I've yet to encounter another pizza that comes close to Mellow Mushroom's, but that's partly because thin-crust pizza does nothing for me and partly because admittedly it can be a pain to find good vegan pizza. I'm just glad there's a Mellow Mushroom in Little Rock so I don't have to wait to go to back to Nashville for my pizza fix.

My wife (well, girlfriend at the time) and I used to frequent the Nashville Mellow Mushroom when we were there for college. Out of a need for nostalgia, we forced my in-laws into pizza for lunch. The Little Rock Mellow Mushroom doesn't have quite the same psychedelic hippie feel that the Nashville location did, or even the Mellow Mushroom branches I've tried in Fort Worth, TX and Destin, FL. The giant tye dye portrait of Johnny Cash seemed a tad out of place, as did the dated (though festive) Mannheim Steamroller Christmas tunes. Even the waitstaff didn't seem to be as stoned as they should have been to work here. We were all pretty hungry, so we ordered the Mighty Meaty for a five-meat feast and the Mellowterranean to try something new. The Mighty Meaty was delicious. Who needs vegetables anyway? The crust is always one of the best parts of Mellow Mushroom's pizza. Bacon was the clear winner of the five meats, but you probably could have guessed as much. The Mellowterranean took over 10 minutes longer to come out than had the Meaty, but I'm not sure why. The tzatziki sauce came in small plastic containers just tossed on top of the pie, which seemed a little unsanitary and kind of unappetizing (since I don't know where the containers had been before landing on my pizza). This was a really tasty pizza, and I thoroughly enjoyed the tzatziki sauce, which was helpful since this was otherwise a sauceless pizza. This wasn't the best Mellow Mushroom pizza I've had, but it was still good nonetheless.

I'd like to be able to review the food but I didn't get that far. I went with two friends (who happen to be in food service industry)tonight around 8pm (Monday evening). No one greeted us, no one acknowledged our presence. There was a large party in the bar area and a few full tables throughout the restaurant. After five minutes of standing in the hostess area we left, opting for another restaurant.

I took for granted the massive amount of good restaurants in Charlotte. They even have a higher caliber of chain restaurants than you can in Little Rock. I don't men "local" chains (Charlotte has a ton of those as well), but national chains you can find all over the country. Firebird's is my favorite chain ever. And there are 3-4 locations in Charlotte, and not a single one in Little Rock. The Melting Pot: another Charlotte favorite; 2-3 locations in Charlotte, none in Little Rock. Mellow Mushroom: two in Charlotte, none in Little Rock. Until now. The pizza chain opened up it's 3rd Arkansas location a little over two weeks ago. I wish they had done it sooner... (like two years and seven months ago) but I'll take what I can get. So far it's doing very, very well. We were going to go on a weeknight, since I assumed they wouldn't be as busy. Wrong. I called at 6:00 and found they were on an hour and a half wait! Then on Friday, Graham & I were both off work early, and decided to head out there for an early dinner. We got there around 4:45, and were seated immediately. I'm glad we got there when we did. We left around 6:00, and the waiting area was packed and there were tons of people outside. Just out of curiosity we asked how long the wait was: 55-60 minutes. Holy crap. The service was excellent. I can tell they're still working out some kinks (it was opening week, after all), but once you take that into consideration, it was a perfect dining experience. Our server was very friendly and helpful, the manager was going from table to table helping out where needed (which always scores a restaurant points with me) and the food and drinks were delicious. It took longer than is typically acceptable for them to come out, but it was worth the wait. And I personally believe you have to cut a brand new restaurant, very busy restaurant a little slack. It was happy hour, so we took advantage of their drink specials. Graham ordered beer, I had a Lemon Head. I was unsure about it, since it does have beer in it (and I hate beer), but our sever said it was his favorite and highly recommended it. It was delicious. It was made up of Cointreau, fresh sour mix, a splash of Blue Moon and a fresh squeeze of lemon. Nothing overpowered anything else, and it was just really, really good. For dinner, we ordered the small Kosmic Karma: red sauce base with feta and mozzarella cheeses, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, Roma tomatoes and a swirl of pesto. I would have ordered the next size up, but G swore he wasn't that hungry. And then he ended up eating half. Grr. It actually was the perfect size for us, but the fat kid in me would have liked more... We split this, and a dessert and left full and happy. The pizza was delicious. Their crust is my favorite ever, and the toppings... oh my. The pesto had wonderful flavor, the red sauce was perfect. Everything was just delicious. For dessert, we split the key lime pie. When it comes out, you're slightly disappointed. I mean, it looks pretty but where is the key lime part? Then you cut into it... Oh! There it is! This was so, so good. We devoured this in about 30 seconds. I hate that we're leaving right as Little Rock is gaining some *good* chain restaurants (Chuy's has opened up next door), but oh well. In 28 days, we'll have a whole new area of restaurants to check out. I will definitely be back before we leave though. Definitely.

Mellow Mushroom is finally here. There's been much hype surrounding its opening the past few months. And although there are both positive and negative aspects, the positives far outweigh the negatives. Lets just get the nasty negative out of the way right now- they're pretty proud of their food! Pizzas are pricey. Unique and interesting, yes. But also pricier than most. On to the good stuff! 1) The restaurant itself has a modern, hip atmosphere...yet is still great for families. 2) They have a huge selection of beers on tap! Even local beers, which is awesome. I dare you to try them all in one sitting. 3) The pizza combinations are interesting, as well as interestingly named. Holy Shiitake? Check. Maui-Wowie? Yep. Magical Mystery Tour? Oh yeah. 4) The food is good! I particularly like the crust, more important than the toppings if you ask me. 5) They have a "local" appetizer of little dough balls with sides of marinara and a beer cheese sauce. Tasty! Give them a try, but expect a wait!

Service: I have been their twice since moving to Little Rock. Both times the service has been good. It takes a little longer for food to come, but its not excessive(30 minutes). The waitstaff warned us both times it would be thirty minutes for our pizza. It was fine, because both times we were not in a hurry. The waitstaff seems to be younger and they have a slight hipster/alternative look to them. Food: We have only ever ordered the pizza here. The first time we got the Bayou Blue(shrimp, sausage, blue cheese, olive oil, cheese etc.) and this last time we got the philosophers pie( steak, klamata olives, garlic, onions, cheese) and the buffalo chicken pizza. The buffalo chicken pizza and the bayou were awesome. The flavors were well balanced and we ate every slice. The philosophers pie was good, but not as good as the other two. I love the crust on their pizza, because its not super thin, but its not really thick either. It's really crisp and thin towards the end and then gets thicker closer to the crust. They have a really good beer selection here as well. All our group liked their food except one. He ordered one of the sandwiches, but agreed that the pizza was good. A medium is enough to feel full for two people. The second time we had four people(three of them large men) and ordered two mediums. It was more than enough food. Ambiance: chain psychedelic....they have tv's, but they have an outdoor seating area without them as welll. We ate inside and it was a little loud, but not overpowering. I liked eating out on the patio far more. The fans made the summer heat bearable and it seemed more laid back.

I had a good time here the service could be improved but it is fairly new so that is to be expected. The pizza is so so but this is more or less a tourist trap by far not the best pizza in Little Rock.

Pros: Great, big menu. Good salads and pizzas. Good crust. Lots of tables, indoor and outdoor seating, new facility, nice restroom. Vegan friendly. Cons: TV's everywhere, loud, lots of obese people, crocs-wearers and camouflage among the patrons.

For the first night of my trip to Little Rock (at an ESL conference), my friends took me to the Mellow Mushroom. We have one in Memphis, but I had never been. It's not near my home, but I had heard good things about it. There's a creature that greets you at the door. I'm not sure what it is... maybe a mushroom? The restaurant is very psychedelic. It's a trippy atmosphere. They have many beers on tap. I prefer a draft beer over a bottle beer. I had chose the lazy magnolia. It's 9% alcohol. It was very flavorful. My pizza was great. I'm an extremist: I either want all meat or all veggie. This was an all veggie kind of day. It was supposed to have a red sauce, but I noticed that some pizzas had a white sauce, so I changed mine. The pizzas come in multiple sizes. I got the smallest one, but it was still huge. Since I was staying in a hotel and didn't have a refrigerator, I was obligated to eat the whole pizza. Ha ha. The service was good, too. I'm sure I'll visit the Memphis one soon!

I called in my order. I ordered half Thai dye and half Red skinned potato pizza. I asked for thin crust but there was no thin crust option so the guy on the phone said they would get it as thin as possible. He told me it would be about 25 minutes. I arrived about 30 minutes later to get my pizza. I went to the bar to pick it up. The guy was a little rude and when he brought the pizza out you could tell it had been sitting a while, long enough to get cold and greasy. I took it and left. At least I got my pizza. I had a friend try to dine in and she sat there for 45 minutes and was never waited on so she just got up and left. As for the pizza, meh, Larry's is much better. I won't be back.

Do you want to know what it feels like to be tortured? Then go eat at the Mellow Mushroom!!! They play this fun game called starve out. The hungrier you look the longer they will take. It took two and a half hours to make two pizzas. I should have just walked to the Kroger next door bought two Digiorno pizzas and stuck them in their ovens which they clearly weren't using. The ass hat (very rude) waiter did however teach me a fun new conversion. Did you know that 6 "kitchen minutes" is equivalent to 45 human minutes? Because I did not. The food was amazing, the service was not.

We'll this was my second time to Mellow Mushroom and pretty sure my last. The time I went before they put stuff on my pizza I didn't order but the manger gave me a 10.00 off for next time so at least she knew of the problem and still tried to make me happy. So last night thought I would give it another go big mistake. It was busy but an hour and a half for our food is outrages. They keep on coming by telling us the kitchen was backed up. Finally our food came and by the way none of us ordered pizza., my calzone was not cold but by no means hot, manager did nothing so I think this will be my last visit. My waiter was very nice not his fault the Kitchen was backed up but kind of funny how everybody around us got their food.

What an awesome name, Mellow Mushroom. I went with friends from work after several other co-workes raved about the food. Even though this a chain, I would go back there again. First, let's start with vibrations, there are many to choose. If you are a beer fan, then this is your place. They had a large list of what they have on tap. If you cannot find a beer that you like on that list, then maybe you are the problem. The food was yummy. My friends order the meatball hoagie and barbecue chicken pizza. They looked yummy. I ordered a Gluten Free pizza and it was one of the best I have had. As for the GF menu, you definitely have a large selection of food choices. I LOVED how some of the servers embraced the name Mellow Mushroom in their work outfits. It was fun. They also have several tvs to watch the game. I will go back on my next trip to LR.

I've never had anything less than a great experience here. On this visit, a Saturday night, they were packed and we were quoted 20-30 minutes for a table. 22 minutes later, we were seated in the bar area and were promptly greeted by out server, Michelle. She offered us a few beer selections, which we took her up on her offer. They have a great local beer selection. We went with Lost 40 and were not disappointed. We went with the wings for an appetizer and they were perfectly cooked and tossed in jerk seasoning. Delicious. We went with the Maui Wowie pizza tonight and it was one of the best pizzas we have ever had. Something about the crust here that makes us want more. Too full for dessert, we opted for one more round of beers. The restaurant was clean, everyone was happy and friendly, restrooms were clean. Just a great experience all around. We had a chance to chat with the manager who stopped by our table and he was very nice and asked about our visit. Other pizza places in town could take a few pointers from Mellow Mushroom. We will come here many more times.

Had lunch here yesterday. The food was excellent. I had a small Caesar Salad and shared a small House Special Pizza. The ingredients were fresh and the combination of flavors tremendous. While the crust was tasty, it was a little hard, but didn't stand in the way of me eating every bite of it. The Caesar Salad was perfect. I thought the decor was a tad cheesy, but it just really isn't my taste. It was also a little loud but again, it is a fun casual pizza place, not a fine dining establishment so I expected those things.

Don't see the big deal here. No thin crust option and the pizza is half dough and crust. You really get filled up on all the dough. If you like doughy pizza then this is your place. Restaurant decor is nice though.

Horrendous service. Went for lunch and there was not a crowd at all. After 1 hour out pizza arrived. No apologies, no offers to comp even a drink. In fact, the manager seemed to avoid us, refusing to even make eye contact. The pizza itself wasn't bad but definitely not worth this price or my time. The name is catchy but this place is a disaster. It will be remarkable if its still in business in a couple of years.

As all of you have read my previous ratings, you know that I like to add some humor to the really bad ones simply to describe what I felt and let everyone know in a humous way how the experience went. With the mellow mushroom, there was nothing funny about anything. I will be serious about this one and to the point, as I feel it will speak so much louder. My fiancee and I went there this evening and actually had a great time. the server was busy but attentive and did great (as did the other servers always stopping by and making sure we were good). We ordered some drinks and some appetizers and everything was great, service, food, and drinks get a 5 star... Unfortunately it went south, as far as you can go, in just one moment. We ordered our main course which was a pizza at 8:22.... by 9:26 we had a wonderful time but it was just taking way to long to get our main course, so I politely asked for our tab, not caring if we had our pizza or not, we just were ready to leave. 4 individuals came up to me when I walked in and asked if they could help, which I absolutely commend, and I simply said I would just like the tab so we could go. our server told us no problem she would be right out with it. I watched her pull the General manager aside and then they dispersed. I waited another 5 minutes and then just walked back outside. After another couple minutes the General Manager walked out with our order. I explained to him that I actually was just inside and just asked for the check because we were ready to go, we know sometimes things happen and it takes a while longer but we were just ready. he proceeded to insult me and then say "well I'll just take it away if you don't want it, you don't need to eat here".. Myself and fiancee were sooooooo embarrassed. How can you call yourself a leader of this establishment yet insult guests the way you do, I have no clue. I told him I just wanted the tab, leave the pizza, for the mere fact that he was so very rude and insulting it was the most embarrassing experience I have ever had. Now from my previous posts, what does that tell you. There was no, I'm so sorry for the long wait, NO apologies what so ever, he literally looked at us and said, "if you don't want it i'll take it away." Like we were a disease for coming into the place. The staff was so very apologetic for him, but that doesn't matter. The staff was great food great, will never go back again. I will make sure to tell everyone I know about this. All because the manager was to busy or to busy not caring about who is actually paying the bill.....the guest. Im sorry, i go to the mellow mushroom in tampa, and you.......you are not even close... everything was great until he stopped by.. And amazingly, never even asked for him....but if he was good at his job, he would have known what was going on and visited us to let us know, not that we even cared, cuz like I said, we are in the food and hospitality industry.. SAD how one person......the leader....ruins it for everyone.... the staff shoud not have to apologize for the general manager... WILL NOT EVER RETURN!!!!

Well we decided to drive 30mins to West LR and give it another chance. We weren't greeted instead we stared at a greeter talking on the phone. When she got off we were told there would be a 20min wait, the parking lot was half empty, the restaurant was half empty...but no we can't seat you. were staring at an empty booth, so asked what about that booth? Which we got a sob story about there only being 2 servers. Not my problem, we left, won't be back.

The pizza was outstanding, I just thought that it was extremely overpriced. $25 for a large pizza is way too much. You can go many places in Little Rock and get pizza every bit as good for quite a bit less.

  • Mike M.

Not bad, but could be better. The special pizzas they have are over-priced for Arkansas, but if you just want to get a couple toppings on a cheese, it's not too bad. It comes in a small 10 inch, medium 14 inch, or large 16 inch size. It seemed to have high quality ingredients and was well made. However, the crust was a little too thick for my taste and the pie was light on the toppings.

What a disappointment! It was our first time and our server explained that it would take about 25 mins for the pizza to arrive. We were hungry and so we decided to get an appetizer first. 40-45 minutes later, we still didn't have our pizza. Everyone else who arrived after us already had their pizza. I had to call our server and asked how much longer it would be for the pizza to arrive. She apologized, said that they have a big party, etc., etc. (not my fault!) She said it'll be another 6 minutes, so finally I said just cancel the order. I wasn't going to waste another 6 minutes of my time in there. She proceeded to hand us our bill and as she did that, I asked to speak with the manager and her face just turned white! She apologized profusely - her excuse this time was that the kitchen staff lost our ticket (well, then she should have followed up the order after 25 minutes). She crumpled our bill and said she won't charge us. Ummm hello????!!! I would've have paid it but at least comp one drink, but that didn't happen. We left - no tip for her. Will not return ever again.

The food was very good, when we finally got it. It took nearly an hour to receive our food. We were not wanting "fast food" but this was entirely too long to wait. Will try one more time due to the quality of the food. Eight of us had a variety of pizzas, and all were good.

This is a great pizza spot with over 40 Beers on tap & full bar. The place was packed when we visited. But the service was A quality! Multiple times I had multiple waiters/waitresses refill our drinks or ask if we needed anything at all. That was a welcome surprise. The pizza was stellar as well! & when I asked if they had fresh raw jalapeños our waitress actually went to check as opposed to them just dumping pickled jalapeños on my pizza. Which is usually the case at lesser pizza joints. My pizza was perfect & the crust was crispy but not hard or cardboardesque. All & all a great experience but the service definatley put it over the top!

Lacking. Limp, disappointing pizza. Pepperoni under cooked. Just not my type of pizza. I'd order Pizza Hut before the Mushroom.

Pizza
